We are seeking a talented Technical Engineer (2nd or 3rd Line) to join our engineering team.

This role offers flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week, with the rest of the week spent at our stunning offices overlooking Skiddaw.

£27,000 - £37,000 Depending on Experience
Full Time - Permanent
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

We are an IT & digital services company, covering managed services contracts, servers and network installations, wired & wireless networks, VOIP, and website design and hosting.

Our offices are located in Lake District Park, with stunning views overlooking Skiddaw Massif. The area is ideal for outdoor activities, with some of the country's best walks.

This role is based at our office outside Keswick, with flexibility for 1-2 days remote work.

The Technical Engineer role:

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Engineer to join our team near Keswick. Our office offers scenic views, and we pride ourselves on a friendly, supportive environment with flexibility.

You’ll work with a range of technologies, supporting clients with cloud solutions, VoIP, infrastructure projects, and cybersecurity. It’s a varied role suited for problem-solvers who enjoy hands-on engineering work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for servers, networks, cloud platforms, and VoIP systems.
  2. Designing, quoting, and delivering Windows Server infrastructure and backup solutions.
  3. Supporting clients remotely, by phone, and on-site across Cumbria and beyond.
  4. Maintaining system security and updates with strong cybersecurity practices.
  5. Collaborating with other engineers and supporting junior team members.

About you:

Essential:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of backup, continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, client-focused attitude.
  • A full UK driving license.

Nice to have:

  • Over 3 years of IT support experience.
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems and MSP tools like ConnectWise or NinjaRMM.
  • Experience with firewalls such as Sophos, Cisco, or Ubiquiti.
  • Experience with Datto, Veeam, ShadowProtect, ESET.
  • Industry certifications and a willingness to continue learning.
