A well-established design and fit-out business with over 50 years of experience is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Interior Designer to join their growing team near Portsmouth. With an anticipated turnover of 10 million this year, the company continues to expand its impressive portfolio of workplace and commercial interiors. The company delivers 90% of its projects across the South of England, with project values ranging from 250,000 to 5 million, and currently employs 23 staff, with the Technical Interior Designer being part of a team of two other designers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong designer to work on exciting commercial fit-out projects, producing high-quality technical design and construction packages. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and Fire Safety standards, and will be highly proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.

Technical Interior Designer Job Overview

  • Produce accurate, fully coordinated technical drawing packages for commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Work closely with the pre-construction team, project managers, design teams, and contractors to ensure buildable, compliant solutions.
  • Ensure all designs meet current UK Building Regulations, fire strategy requirements, and best practices in construction.
  • Contribute to project development from concept through to completion, focusing on the technical delivery stages.
