Job summary

Sonovision UK is seeking an enthusiastic junior Technical Illustrator to join our Technical Illustration team. You will create illustrations for major manufacturers across aerospace, defence, energy and rail, drawing on CAD data and 3D models from the Customer Engineering Database.

The role focuses on learning in a supportive environment, collaborating with Technical Authors and engineering teams to ensure clear, accurate documentation for operation, maintenance and support.

Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering drawings and production processes.
• Experience with CAD-related software packages is preferred.
• Pro-active approach to problem solving and investigation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international team.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create isometric illustrations for customer technical manuals.
• Compile source data from the customer engineering database to create illustrations.
• Manipulate 3D models from the customer engineering database.
• Work closely with technical authors and liaise with customer engineering teams.
• Deliver high-quality illustrations that meet customer criteria on tight deadlines.
