Are you an experienced financial reporting specialist with a passion to excel, deliver exceptional quality, and drive growth and change? If so, this role is for you.

The Role

RSM’s audit technical department (NATS) provides technical support to RSM’s audit and financial advisory services business lines. A subset of NATS is the financial reporting specialist team. These specialists provide support to teams, mostly on technical accounting and reporting matters. We are looking for an individual with strong financial and narrative reporting skills who has experience dealing with complex financial reporting matters and reviewing premium or standard listed company annual reports. The candidate should be able to:

• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Mentor more junior personnel and assist in the development of their technical and communication skills
• Contribute to the development of the department from a strategic and operational perspective
• Work under time pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines

Responsibilities

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Performing technical pre-clearance reviews on annual reports for the firm’s highest risk audit clients
• Acting as a financial reporting specialist on the firm’s highest risk audit clients, depending on skills and specialisms
• Providing technical advice and support on complex accounting and financial reporting matters
• Leading a sub-team on financial reporting, narrative reporting, and other departmental projects
• Signing out technical advice provided by junior team members
• Utilizing technical skills to develop the firm’s brand
• Proposing and reviewing internal technical communications, including training materials and guidance documents
• Recommending responses to regulatory changes
• Providing comments and views on regulatory consultations
