Job summary

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and NHS Devon are hiring a Finance Directorate professional to lead financial stewardship and digital transformation across the peninsula. The role focuses on delivering robust financial reporting, governance and strategic financial leadership to improve health services and resource allocation.

You will work in a matrix, across teams, with flexibility and a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector financial governance and reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS and public sector accounting standards.
• Ability to work in a matrix and flexible teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to monthly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAM, HM Treasury guidance, and local SFIs.
• Oversee balance sheet governance, reconciliation and validation of control accounts.
• Support the production of year-end accounts and audits.
• Oversee budget management of running costs.
• Ensure strong financial governance and internal controls are embedded.
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks, escalating issues.
