Job summary

Thermatic Group is seeking a Technical Estimator (GAS) to join the Technical Team at Thermatic Technical FM. You will create technical quotations from Field Engineer reports and support tender pricing.

Based in Salford, Manchester, you will work in the Minor Works Team to deliver costed solutions, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement across projects. The role emphasizes commercial awareness, health and safety knowledge, and collaboration with engineering and business development to

Responsibilities

• Create technical quotations and assessments.
• Assist Business Development in tender pricing with time-to-service calculations per SFG20.
• Review engineers' job cards to ensure correct client solutions.
• Collaborate with Thermatic Engineering and feedback on job card quality.
• Respond to questions and information requests internally/externally.
• Drive Minor Works through existing infrastructure to delivery and completion.
• Cost smaller works with Projects and support larger projects when needed.
• Support operational delivery across the team.
• Identify process improvements and drive continuous improvements.
• Handle external calls and emails promptly with the team.
• Maintain quality, compliance, and Thermatic brand reputation.
• Attend site visits to price works.
• Manage jobs from logging to invoicing with accounts team.
• Drive Net Zero and Carbon reporting for client compliance.
• Maintain commercial awareness of operational impact and improvements.
• Be responsible for margins on quoted works.
• Monitor gross profit and drive efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain client relationships across past, present, future.
• Deliver excellent customer service across email, phone, and portal.
• Understand customer needs and expectations deeply.
• Seek feedback on operations and elevate when needed; attend updates.
• Follow up on quotes, PPM, and reactive work to meet expectations.

Job description

We are looking for a Technical Estimator(GAS) to join the Technical Team atThermatic Technical FM.

As a Thermatic Technical Estimator you will be a member of the Minor Works Team. The Minor Works Team main aim is to deliver agreed services to our clients with the upmost standard and efficiency, whilst maintaining and delivering all cost lines.

As a Technical Estimator, you will support this purpose by creating technical quotations from Thermatic Field Engineer Job Reports whilst offering technical support and guidance to support the management of contract/s, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently and drive continuously.

Hours & Location of Work:

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. With some flexibility.

Based in our Head Office in Salford, Manchester.

Responsibilities include:

• Create technical quotations and assessments.
• Assist Business Development team in tender pricing with time to service calculation aligned with SFG20 / Best Practice
• Review engineers Job Cards and ensure the Minor Works Team create the correct solution for the client
• Work along side Thermatic Engineering feeding back on engineer job card quality
• Support with responses to questions and requests for information – internally and/or externally
• Drive Minor Works through existing infrastructure to facilitate delivery and completion of Minor Works throughout the assigned accounts.
• Work alongside out Projects department costing smaller scale works and supporting on bigger projects when needed
• Support operational delivery throughout the team.
• Identify opportunities with processes, providing solutions to drive continuous improvements
• Answer all external calls and emails where necessary in a timely manner; ensure that team are actively doing so too
• Be part of a dedicated team to assure quality, compliance and reputation of Thermatic brand is upheld
• Attend site visits when needed to price works
• Work with account team to manage all relevant jobs through the entire process, from logging of the job to invoicing
• Drive Net Zero and Carbon Reports to ensure clients remain compliant
• Commercial awareness of operational impact and what measures can be taken to improve
• Responsible for the required margin on all quoted works
• Awareness of gross profit and driving efficiencies, and how to impact/improve
• Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships; past, current, and future
• Deliver and role model excellent customer service through all channels of communication – email, phone and/or portal
• Gain in depth understanding of customer needs and expectations
• Actively seek feedback on operational performance, act upon feedback where possible and elevate when needed Attend client meetings to deliver operational updates when required
• Follow up on quotes, PPM & reactive work to ensure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded
