Job summary

Willis Aviation Services Limited at Teesside International Airport is seeking a Technical Estimator to join our team. You will develop accurate quotations for aircraft maintenance, modification and rectification work within our UK CAA Part-145 MRO environment.

The role combines technical aviation knowledge with commercial acumen, requiring detailed analysis of labour, materials, tooling and facilities. You will work with customers and internal teams to deliver robust estimates on time.

Qualifications

  • Experience in aircraft maintenance estimating, planning or a similar commercial/technical role.
  • Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance documentation and technical information.
  • Experience in Part-145 and/or Part-M/CAMO environments.
  • Knowledge of continuing airworthiness records systems such as AMOS, OASES or Tracking Plus.
  • Technical records experience.
  • Technical knowledge of B737 and/or A320 family aircraft.
  • Knowledge of HF, EWIS and FTS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple quotations and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer work packs, maintenance inputs, inspection findings, engineering instructions and associated technical documentation.
  • Develop detailed quotations for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, rectification, modification and component-related activities where applicable.
  • Estimate labour hours based on task complexity, aircraft configuration, access requirements, maintenance procedures and previous organisational experience.
  • Identify required manpower disciplines, including mechanical, electrical/avionics, structures and other specialist skills.
  • Identify requirements for external specialist services, subcontractors, NDT, machining, specialist repairs and other third-party support.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Stores and Procurement teams to validate estimates and quotations.
  • Create, maintain and continuously improve the company's quotation and estimating model.
  • Establish and maintain a structured database of historical quotations, actual labour performance, material costs and completed work.
  • Develop standard estimating rates, labour standards and task-duration assumptions for recurring maintenance activities.
  • Compare quoted hours and costs against actual maintenance performance and identify estimating variances.
  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical skills to continuously improve the accuracy and effectiveness of our estimating process.

Are you an experienced aviation professional with a background inaircraft maintenance planning, estimating or technical services?

Willis Aviation Services Limited (WASL) is looking for aTechnical Estimatorto join our team at Teesside International Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing accurate, commercially viable and technically robust quotations for aircraft maintenance, modification and rectification work within ourUK CAA Part-145 MRO environment.

Working closely with our customers and internal teams, you will use your technical knowledge and maintenance experience to understand the work required, build detailed quotations and ensure we have a clear understanding of the labour, materials, parts, specialist services, tooling and facilities needed to deliver each project.

What will you be doing?

As our Technical Estimator, you will:

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with previous experience inaircraft maintenance estimating, planning or a similar commercial/technical role.

You will ideally have:
  • Experience working within an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • The ability to interpret aircraft maintenance documentation and technical information.
  • Previous planning experience within aPart-145 and/or Part-M/CAMO environment.
  • Knowledge of continuing airworthiness records systems such asAMOS, OASES or Tracking Plus.
  • Technical records experience.
  • Technical knowledge representative ofB737 and/or A320 family aircraft.
  • Knowledge ofHF, EWIS and FTS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
