This is a hybrid working role , therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the Central Transport Office (Bracknell). However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as needed (Occasional travel to Supplier and Partnership locations).

About Role

Ideal role for a technical-based fleet management or workshop-based professional looking to advance their career as our Fleet Technical Engineer, you will provide engineering solutions to meet the Partnership’s current and future transport needs.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

Supporting Vehicle Engineering Manager:

Write, develop, and manage vehicle specifications ensuring productivity, cost-efficiency, and legal compliance.

Assess vehicle manufacturers’ products and create a list of approved suppliers and models.

Ensure manufacturer compliance with specifications.

Vehicle Compliance and Delivery:

Ensure new vehicles comply with legal and health & safety standards.

Collaborate with CV Operations and Procurement to deliver vehicles on time and to specification.

Fleet Development:

Stay updated on vehicle materials and equipment.

Analyse data on maintenance, whole-life vehicle costs, and fuel consumption.

Vehicle Livery and Systems Management:

Design vehicle livery in line with marketing and regulatory requirements.

Manage telematics, fuel monitoring systems, and bulk fuel infrastructure.

Prevent environmental incidents and fuel theft.

Maintain fuel management and support other systems to meet legal and operational standards.

Infrastructure Maintenance:

Oversee automated truck washing equipment and vehicle weighing systems.

Essential skills you’ll need

Vehicle repair and maintenance qualifications (NVQ 3, BTec, HNC, HND or similar)

Experience working in a fleet management, road transport environment or workshop-based environment, typically in a technical role

Intermediate PC applications (word, excel, PowerPoint or equivalent)

Desirable Skills you can bring:

Understanding of project management and procurement processes
