About the Role – We are seeking a Technical Director, Structures to join our Aberdeen Office, with previous experience working in an Engineering Consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead on diverse projects, both large and small.
  • Collaborate with and lead other members of the design team to achieve coordinated design solutions that align with client objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of graduate engineers.
  • Conduct structural engineering assessments and inspections of both new and existing properties, focusing on materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Perform analysis and design tasks using a variety of software packages, including Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of technical outputs including drawings and reports, including structural surveys.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).
  • Approved, or working towards SER Certifier Status.
  • Comprehensive experience across various construction types and building forms.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Strong initiative with the ability to manage personal workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills.
  • Mandatory experience in structural analysis, design, and relevant software.
  • Previous experience as a Technical Director (Structures) within a similar role.
  • Full driving licence essential.
