With offices across Europe, Asia, and the US, and a multidisciplinary team of 3,500 professionals, we deliver complex capital projects in sectors such as life sciences, food and beverages, mission-critical/ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy, and environmental services.


We are excited to offer a new opportunity for a senior-level Technical Director of Electrical Engineering. This role will serve as the central voice for Electrical Engineering Design, leading and developing this discipline within PM Group. It is a strategic, full-time, technical position within our design services.


The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Engineering, other Discipline Technical Directors, and Heads of Services to ensure efficient and consistent delivery of design services across all 20 of our offices. This role will significantly contribute to the company's performance, safety, and the creation of a healthy, motivated workforce.


This senior appointment reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for leadership, governance, troubleshooting, and defining operational standards in Electrical Engineering Design.


We offer flexible working arrangements, including up to two days per week remote work. The role can be based in Ireland, the UK, Poland, or Belgium.

Responsibilities

  1. PM Group Strategy for Electrical Engineering
  2. Develop a discipline strategy supporting group and local business plans, including capability and capacity forecasting.
  3. Support business units in strengthening departments, identifying competency gaps, and training needs.
  4. Develop specialized SME areas such as sustainability within Electrical Engineering.
  5. Align cross-functional competencies with architectural and engineering disciplines.
  6. Define design activities and deliverables for core sectors to ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
  2. Define and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  3. Enhance the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform within our QMS.
  4. Create standardized group-wide operational procedures considering local codes and norms.
  5. Integrate digital tools and sector-specific approaches into design processes.
  6. Manage investments in business transformation projects.

  1. Governance of Design Delivery
  2. Support sales proposals and establish project watch lists based on design challenges and risks.
  3. Influence early design stages and chair design reviews on key projects.
  4. Review safety documentation and contribute to go/no-go project decisions.

  1. Troubleshooting
  2. Act as the first responder for critical electrical design issues across the group.
  3. Engage with senior client and internal teams to identify corrective actions.
  4. Lead and monitor corrective measures, providing updates to management.

Qualifications
  • Passion for Electrical Engineering
  • Focus on safe asset delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Industry experience, including senior management roles
  • Knowledge of Pharma, Med Tech, and Data Center industries
  • Membership in a recognized engineering body (e.g., IET)
  • Strong technical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Self-motivated decision-maker
  • Fluent in English
