Primary Objectives

The Technical Director, TMT, EMEA, leads client and technical development in the TMT sector, focusing on MEP and Electrical Engineering. Responsibilities include supporting sales, client relations, and technical development, and managing the MEP service offering in the EMEA region.

  • Assist in managing the MEP Service offering in the TMT sector in EMEA.
  • Develop HDR's TMT sector offerings, exploring new technologies and energy solutions, collaborating on energy modeling.
  • Operate efficiently in line with HDR’s corporate structure.
  • Instill the company's vision and values.
  • Coordinate with other TMT leads for consistency across disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities

Support pursuits and sales, manage client relationships, assist in recruitment, ensure quality assurance, develop technical solutions, liaise with colleagues in NA and APAC, and support staff development during project initiation.

General Duties

  • Structure team training and succession planning.
  • Support management in business operations, quality management, and IIP execution.
  • Support business management duties as assigned.
  • Undertake engineering activities and support project directors and discipline leaders.
  • Ensure no claims are made on projects and technical documents are checked diligently.
  • Recruit and interview new team members.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and conduct third-party audits.
  • Support sales, resource control, problem-solving, and design advice across fields.

Specialist Duties

  • Maintain technical audit registers.
  • Ensure compliance with IIP accreditation, ISO 9001, 14001, health and safety policies, and industry standards.

Reporting

  • Activities and development in the MEP area.
  • Exceptional items, project issues, client issues.
  • Quality management, technical compliance, health & safety.
  • Future developments and focus areas.

Meeting Attendance

  • Management Board, Business Planning, Business Development, and Resource Planning meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • At least 5 years project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project; Access experience a plus.
  • Leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
