Location: Remote/Homeworking position. This position is open to applicants globally in all countries where World Vision International (WVI) is registered to operate.

Job Purpose

The Technical Director, Knowledge Management and Learning, leads the development and execution of World Vision’s Partnership-wide Knowledge Management (KM) strategy. This position exists to strengthen KM systems, tools, and practices (including leveraging generative AI), foster a culture of learning and evidence use, and ensure the accessibility, usability, and impact of research, evaluations, and programmatic insights. By embedding KM and evidence use into business processes, technical strategies, and decision-making systems, this role ensures that evidence becomes a central asset for scaling impact, innovation, and influence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the co-creation and roll-out of a cutting-edge KM strategy for the global Partnership. Align KM vision with organizational strategy, integrating digital and AI-enabled systems to streamline access, discovery, and application of knowledge.
  • Oversee development and piloting of an AI-powered KM Hub/repository that curates all WV research and evaluations. Drive innovation in evidence dissemination, synthesis, and packaging for program, advocacy, and policy use.
  • Lead targeted support to build regional and support office KM and evidence use capabilities. Define and track progress using a KM Maturity Matrix and tailored capability-building pathways.
  • Ensure effective dissemination and use of research and evaluation findings across technical teams, business units, and strategic decision-makers. Embed evidence planning into the global research agenda and broader program strategy development processes.


Required Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in knowledge management, organizational learning, information science, public policy, or international development.
  • 8+ years of experience in leading KM, learning, or evidence use strategies in large international or multi-stakeholder organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing enterprise-wide KM systems and AI-powered repositories.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and align KM workstreams with organizational strategy.
  • Experience managing CoPs and designing KM strategies to support evidence utilization, donor engagement, and program innovation.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian or development sector knowledge needs.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
  • International travel may be required up to 10–15%.
  • Standard desk-based responsibilities with computer-based collaboration.
  • May involve facilitation of multi-day workshops or presentations across offices or regions.


Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Training or certification in AI for knowledge work, enterprise KM systems, or digital transformation.
  • French or Spanish Speaking is an added advantage.

Compensation

For positions filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $102,000 to $136,000 USD. Ranges are based on various factors, including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
