Job summary

Focus Resourcing is assisting a well-established environmental consultancy in recruiting a Technical Director based in Cardiff. You will lead technically complex EIA work across hydrology, water resources and peatland management, and mentor a growing team while driving business development.

The role offers a clear pathway to senior leadership, including potential future directorship and enhanced bonus opportunities, with flexibility for remote working from other locations where beneficial.

Qualifications

• Chartered with CIWEM, IEMA or ICE and a proven track record in environmental impact assessments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of developing teams.
• Experience delivering large and complex water/environment projects and bids.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Executive for major environmental assessments across energy and transport projects.
• Provide technical leadership, QA and oversight of outputs and processes.
• Develop in-house capability in hydrology, water resources and peat management.
• Mentor and support junior staff toward professional chartership.
• Lead line management, performance reviews and development planning.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and represents the company confidently.
• Stay up to date with regulatory frameworks and influence their application.
• Manage workloads across multiple concurrent projects and bids up to 100k.
• Develop and deliver a marketing plan to grow your sector with bonus-linked targets.
