Technical Director, C#, .NET, Platform Strategy, COR7634
A Technical Director opportunity has emerged at a growing software business based in Manchester and it is well worth a closer look. Could this be the move where you take genuine ownership of a technology function and leave a lasting mark on how a product evolves?
The Technical Director will hold end-to-end accountability for all things technology within the organisation. That covers platform ownership, engineering team leadership, hiring and people development, and setting a clear forward direction for how the company’s software grows and scales. Day-to-day, you will be operating at the point where technology meets commercial reality, advising on architecture, steering the team, and ensuring the right foundations are in place for the future.
This is a well-established software business, the company owns and develops its own product, and technology is central to everything it does. Senior leaders here operate close to the work, decisions move quickly and good thinking is acted upon. It is the kind of environment where the right person can have a tangible impact from day one.
Solid grounding in C# and .NET, with enough technical fluency to engage meaningfully with engineers, evaluate architectural options, and make informed decisions, without needing to be writing production code daily
A background in engineering leadership or a senior technical lead position, with demonstrable experience developing people and steering technical teams toward a shared goal
Comfortable holding a breadth of responsibilities, across platform, infrastructure, delivery, and people functions
A background such as Development Lead, Technical Lead, or a hands‑on senior role with growing people responsibility
Salary between £100,000 and £120,000
A seat at the leadership table with direct influence over company-wide technology decisions
Room to genuinely shape and build a technology function rather than inherit a fixed one
