Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Development Lead

Reporting to the Engineering and Design Director, you will:

  1. Lead the planning and development of decarbonisation strategies for public and private sector clients.
  2. Conduct detailed technical and financial feasibility studies for low-carbon technologies (e.g., heat pumps, HVAC, BMS, solar PV).
  3. Guide teams through the preparation and submission of grant applications (e.g., PSDS, GHNF, HNES).
  4. Provide technical leadership across RIBA Stages 0-4 and Stage 7 to ensure integrated engineering and commercial outcomes.
  5. Oversee building and system-level energy modelling for performance optimisation.
  6. Develop bespoke modelling tools for energy forecasting, demand-side management, and system analysis.
  7. Create robust business cases and financial models to support funding bids and project viability.
  8. Present complex technical and financial insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Support the optimisation of building energy systems.
