Job summary

AECOM seeks a Technical Design Lead to drive the design and delivery of hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre projects across Europe. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensure technical excellence, and maintain strong client relationships in a client-facing, delivery role.

Regular travel across UKI and Europe is expected. The role involves overseeing all design phases from planning to construction documentation, with a focus on risk mitigation and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer or Architect with professional qualification.
• Extensive experience in data centre design and/or project management.
• Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex data centre projects.
• Knowledge of permitting processes, building systems, regulations, and construction methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams across UKI and Europe.
• Oversee all phases of data centre projects from due diligence to construction documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality design outputs.
• Identify and mitigate project risks with practical solutions.
• Support on commercial governance and risk mitigation.
• Build and maintain client relationships and interface with Client CAM.
• Present to clients and stakeholders and ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with design and delivery teams for localisation and permitting.
