City & Guilds Training in Ulverston is seeking a Technical Delivery Tutor - Electrical to deliver and assess Electrical and Maintenance engineering courses up to level 3, aligned with awarding body guidelines. You will develop and maintain course material, lesson plans and assess learners with real-world industry experience.

The role values candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry qualification, plus hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ industry experience in Electrical and Maintenance roles.
• Minimum Level 2 Maths and English qualification.
• Hold a Level 3 Qualification in Electrical engineering.
• Hold a Full driving licence.
• Assessor or teaching qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess Electrical Engineering courses up to level three.
• Develop and maintain course material including lesson plans and schemes of work.
• Assist in curricular development and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain record keeping (ILP, etc.).
• Complete moderation and IQA duties as required.
• Review course content and delivery methods regularly.
• Provide feedback and support to learners individually or in groups.
• Support the development of the training centre and delivery outside Electrical topics.

Would you like to work as a Technical Delivery Tutor - Electrical and join our Gen 2 Business in Ulverston?

The role of the Technical Delivery Tutor is to deliver, assess and where necessary offer support to learners engaged in Electrical and Maintenance engineering courses up to level 3, in accordance with the awarding body guidelines. This includes delivery or regulated qualification Including Pearsons BTEC, EAL diplomas and City and Guild Technical qualifications.

The role will also include the progressive development of the Engineering curriculum and the material associated with its delivery.

This position would ideally suit a candidate with a degree in Electrical Engineering, or another recognised qualification within the electrical engineering field, combined with proven industrial experience in electrical engineering and maintenance roles.

We are particularly interested in individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with the next generation of engineers. Previous teaching, training or assessing experience would be advantageous; however, we would also welcome applications from experienced industry professionals looking to make the transition into education and training.

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, able to bring technical subjects to life through real-world industry experience and support learners to develop the practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required to succeed in their careers.

About The Role

What you will be doing:

• To deliver and assess Electrical Engineering courses up to and including level three.
• To develop and maintain the current Electrical Engineering course material including lesson plans and schemes of work for a range of courses.
• Assist in assessing, changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. (ILP etc).
• To complete moderation and IQA duties as required.
• To review course content and delivery methods on a regular basis.
• Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and learner performance goals.
• To ensure all relevant evidence of learning is accurately and correctly documented and completed for each learner.
• Provide feedback and support to learners on a one to one/ group basis.
• To assist in the overall development of the training centre.
• To assist in the delivery of course material outside of the subject of Electrical Installation & engineering.
• To prepare and assist in internal and external audits.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Trainer.
• To provide pastoral care and support to students. including cognassist reporting.
• To attend Promotional open days where required by centre manager.

About You

Attributes we are looking for:

• Have a minimum of three years’ experience in industry in Electrical and Maintenance Roles
• Minimum level 2 Maths and English qualification
• Hold a minimum of a level 3 Qualification in Electrical engineering
• Have a sound knowledge of Electrical engineering principles
• Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
• Communicates effectively, both orally, and in writing, with learners, employers and other professionals
• Hold a Full driving Licence

It will also be beneficial if you have;

• Hold an assessor qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
• Hold a Level 4 or above Qualification in Electrical engineering
• Has experience of delivering and developing Electrical Engineering courses
• An understanding of the Advanced Apprenticeship Standards and the funding process
• Knowledge of alternative teaching/learning options
• An intermediate level of understanding of MS office applications
• Has experience of Training Needs Analysis and Programme Design
