Job description

My large financial services client is seeking an experienced technical delivery manager to join their growing team.

This is an extremely varied and rewarding role, using both functional and technical knowledge to manage and support requirements analysis, solution design, project delivery, budget control, vendor and SaaS management, application lifecycle management, risk and obsolescence management, and end user support.

The successful candidate will establish a valued partnership with internal business areas and build a strong understanding of their function, objectives, strategy, and challenges. With this knowledge and through leadership of the team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of tactical and strategic technology plans to meet their goals and overcome their challenges, whilst ensuring efficient operation of the technology portfolio.

The difference you will make:

  • Partnering with internal business areas and product owners, supporting and effecting business objectives and strategy.
  • Leading Central Services service provision for our internal business areas, including vendor management, IT risk management, application lifecycle management, and incident support.
  • Ensuring change agenda and strategic roadmaps support both business and T&O strategy through closer systems alignment and consolidation with Europe.
  • Managing project delivery, maintenance, and evolution of applications for our internal business areas, applying sound risk and cost management practice.
  • Providing best in class support for our internal customers.

What you will bring:

  • Experience of a financial services environment, ideally combining project management, consulting, data analysis and change management in a technology role.
  • Experience in managing internal stakeholders and external providers, including collaboration with teams in Infrastructure, Cloud, Architecture, IT Security, Procurement, Vendors, and other 3rd Parties.
  • Passion for technology and learning, a broad understanding of integration methods, data concepts, networks, infrastructure, and cloud services.
  • Have a flexible and can-do attitude with a strong sense of initiative. Have strong organisation and planning skills to manage multiple projects so that promises are delivered.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, able to manage complexity, ambiguity, and solve problems including IT Incidents.
  • Ability to convey complex problems and delivery updates, both verbally and in writing, to peers and senior stakeholders.

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Geographically distributed team/resource management experience.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions.
  • Experience introducing agile frameworks and methodologies to new team members.
