Job summary

ALTECH GROUP LTD is recruiting a Technical Cyber Security Consultant for a fully remote UK role. You will work on a variety of client projects, designing and deploying security controls, conducting security reviews, and turning findings into remediation actions.

You’ll harden Windows/Linux, build automation, and communicate risks to technical and executive stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines broad security knowledge with hands-on capability, not solely advisory work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in cyber security or similar technical environment.
• Broad knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls and VPNs.
• Experience with Windows/Linux administration and Active Directory/identity.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Hands-on experience implementing and configuring security solutions, not just assessing them.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell or Bash.

Technical Cyber Security Consultant

£50,000 - £60,000 Fully Remote UK

We're working with a specialist cyber security consultancy that delivers technical security work across critical national infrastructure and other high-consequence environments.

They're looking for a Technical Cyber Security Consultant who combines broad security knowledge with genuine hands-on technical capability. This isn't a purely advisory or assessment-focused position. You'll identify security weaknesses, help clients understand the risk, and then get involved in implementing the solution.

The role

You’ll work across a varied range of client projects, including:

• Designing, deploying and configuring security controls including firewalls, EDR, SIEM, IAM and cloud security tooling
• Supporting penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and technical security reviews
• Turning assessment findings into practical remediation plans and helping clients implement them
• Hardening Windows, Linux, network and cloud environments
• Building scripts, automation and internal security tooling
• Working with standards and guidance such as CIS Benchmarks, NCSC and ISO 27001
• Communicating technical risks and recommendations to both technical teams and senior stakeholders

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• 2+ years' experience within cyber security, security engineering, infrastructure or a similar technical environment
• Broad knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls and VPNs
