They offer an extensive range of products required by the catering industry and are looking to hire a Technical Coordinator to join our strong and capable team. This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience in the Technical department within the Food Service sector, ready to start with minimal training.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage day-to-day Technical and Quality duties including document control, reviewing, and updating Food Safety, Quality, and Legality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and BRCGS standards.
- Implement corrective actions where required, keeping records up to date.
- Conduct internal audits, ensuring all non-conformances are closed out.
- Report to the Company Directors and Technical Manager on conformities and non-conformities to the BRCGS (Storage and Distribution).
- Maintain and test traceability.
- Manage documentation and control of storage and transport, ensuring refrigeration requirements are followed.
- Assist with supplier onboarding, ensuring all supplier data is up to date.
- Participate in various technical internal and external projects.
- Support the Technical Manager and Directors with day-to-day tasks.
- Maintain strict GMP standards throughout the site and conduct regular spot checks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other departments, enhancing understanding and awareness.
- Handle customer and supplier complaints, providing specific training as required.
- Conduct documented investigations and close out non-conformances using root cause analysis.
- Monitor, control, and document hygiene and good housekeeping practices.
- Calibrate measuring equipment and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a food service business within a technical/QA department is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of Food Safety, Quality Systems, HACCP, and BRCGS Storage and Distribution.
- Internal auditor & HACCP training certificate (advantageous).
- Strong passion for quality and technical with ambitions for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, team player, ability to work individually.
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Very good attention to detail.
- Ability to work unsupervised after initial training.
