Location: Leicester or Bexhill (Hybrid - approx. 1 day a week in the office)

Role overview

Due to growth across Home Claims, this brand-new role supports the progression of Large and Complex Loss Claims (generally over £250k). As a Technical Controller, you will use your extensive knowledge and experience in property claims to act as a technical referral point for colleagues and to handle some of our most complex claims. You will also help deliver great customer outcomes while protecting our claims spend.

Job details - you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in
  • Managing claims over £250k, including presenting case plans to underwriters and reinsurers, and proactively managing a portfolio of large loss and complex claims to reach optimum settlement
  • Serving as a referral point and subject matter expert — mentoring claims handlers, providing support, guidance and upskilling where required
  • Working with our Technical Manager to create and update claims policies, philosophies and best practice guides; supporting claim reviews and initiatives to improve handling processes
  • Regular in-depth reviews of live large loss claims, providing real-time interventions to prevent complaints and leakage; ensuring reserves are accurate and costs are controlled
  • Delivering regular training on topics, case surgeries and coaching to help handlers develop and plan succession within the department
  • Regularly reviewing MI to check adherence to SLAs and milestones; identifying outliers and providing oversight of high-profile, high-value and challenging claims to ensure optimum service

  • Customer-centric approach with evidence of going the extra mile in work and communication
