Role Description

Do you watch TV? Do you stream videos to your computer, phone, or tablet? Synamedia has technology deployed worldwide, changing how the world is informed and entertained. Customer Support is a critical function focused on delivering customer success and providing high-quality support services.

We are seeking an engineer to join our Sky Europe team of Technical Consultants supporting Sky Europe engagements. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong team supporting high-profile, key customers. You will need solid experience with Linux in a support role, along with excellent customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • This role requires participation in a 24/7 support rota and onsite support at the customer's offices in the Heathrow area.
  • You will support proprietary software components for a major customer as part of a team of Technical Consultants.
  • Respond rapidly to platform incidents, keep the customer informed about investigation progress, and contribute to detailed resolution reports with further actions if needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze software defects and communicate findings to the development team.
  • Ensure timely and proficient installation of Synamedia headend components for production and lab systems.
  • Participate in new system deployments, take on new solution responsibilities, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Proactively progress backlog tickets to resolution.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience working with Linux environments - Mandatory
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in complex systems - Mandatory
  • Experience supporting B2B customers, especially strategic accounts - Mandatory
  • Familiarity with databases and networking tools such as SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB - Advantage
  • Experience in the Video/OTT ecosystem - Advantage
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams
