Qualifications

I am looking for a Technical Consultant for a company in Maidenhead - they work the hybrid model - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility


Successful candidates would be joining the Logistics professional services team, working in a team to implement logistics management software projects. The (Senior) Consultant: Project Manager has the responsibility to run projects on a day-to-day basis in line with the agreed specifications and commercials. The (Senior) Consultant: Project Manager serves as a coordination point between the different functional teams to ensure proper alignment and focus.


Areas of Responsibility

  1. Drives the definition of the client solution, project structure, and project initiation.
  2. Drives the creation of the Statement of Work document - define project scope, objectives, timeline, budget etc. for the project.
  3. Delivers the key project management office deliverables, such as project plans, status reports to stakeholders, RAID logs, dashboards, budget/cost monitoring and control, etc. Coordinates with other functional team members to ensure proper resourcing and prioritization for the projects and sets client expectations accordingly.
  4. Monitors project progress and performance to ensure timely delivery and identifies and implements adjustments and improvements.
  5. Ensures financial management of the projects across the wider team ensuring that all parties are working within defined budgets and the necessary audit and monitoring controls are in place and adhered to.
  6. Ensures effective communication across the wider project team to achieve a high level of clarity as to responsibilities, ongoing activities and necessary coordination.
  7. Works effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation.
  8. Develops excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.
  9. Manages enhancement requirements and translates them into the change & configuration management process.
  10. Ensures alignment of the internal and external technical teams involved in the implementation.
  11. Expected over time to lead requirements definition discussions with the client and drive the necessary documentation as input to the SW development team.
  12. Coordinates UAT, Go-Live, and post-implementation support as necessary.
  13. Has a detailed understanding of the organization strategic priorities and is able to drive these in the daily course of business.
  14. Applies industry best practices, methodologies, tools and standards.
  15. Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of PMO processes and tools.

Key Qualifications

  1. Minimum 5-year proven project management experience, preferably within an IT environment.
  2. Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or similar).
  3. Bachelor's degree.
  4. Fluency (written and spoken) in English (mandatory) and German (preferred).
  5. Experience of working in client-facing environment.
  6. Strong communication skills to support frequent customer contact.
  7. High level of self-organization, problem solving ability, proactivity, and attention to detail.
  8. Excellent analytical skills.
  9. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
  10. Exhibits strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  11. Proficiency in Project Management Software Tools, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools • Ability to quickly understand new SW solutions.
  12. Willingness to travel.
  13. Ability to work independently on a client site.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous experience in technical consulting and/or business process engineering.
  2. AGILE Methodology (desirable).
  3. Background in SW Development or Business Analysis (desirable).
