Technical Food Compliance & Sustainability Co-ordinator

Are you looking to build a career in food industry compliance and sustainability? This role is open to both graduates with a scientific degree and candidates with previous experience in compliance, technical or food safety roles. It’s an excellent opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge and analytical skills in a commercial food environment, working at the forefront of compliance, food safety, and sustainability.

The Role

You will play a key part in supporting the Technical Compliance function, ensuring that the business and its supplier base meet strict food safety, quality, and sustainability standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with suppliers to collect, review, and approve due diligence documentation.
  • Completing approvals on customer compliance platforms.
  • Conducting supplier risk assessments.
  • Managing the daily chemical surveillance testing schedule for all product arrivals.
  • Supporting recall and traceability exercises.
  • Maintaining the approved supplier list and ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Collating and trending supplier environmental data (food waste, carbon, water usage, sustainable farming certification).
About You

We’re looking for someone with either:

  • A degree in a scientific discipline such as Biology, Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science or related field, OR
  • Previous experience in compliance, technical, or food safety within the food industry.

You will also bring:

  • Strong analytical and data management skills – confident in Excel, with the ability to pick up Power BI or other data tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Clear communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • A genuine interest in food safety, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Ability to work full-time, 5 days per week, from the Maidstone office.
