Technical Compliance Officer (Asbestos, Legionella & Lifts)

Technical Compliance Officer (Asbestos, Legionella & Lifts) (35 hours per week)

The Technical Compliance Officer (Legionella / Asbestos / Lifts) will support full compliance for the delivery of these respective contracts. They will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of legionella, asbestos, and lift safety matters and will be trained to a specialist level, with a minimum safety qualification in each of the three disciplines.

What youll be doing

  • Support the Strategic Manager (Servicing) to co-ordinate legionella, asbestos, and lift safety activity and maintenance, to a minimum position of legal compliance, but also to understand, interpret and deliver on the requirements of British Standards (BS) in legionella, asbestos, lift safety and the requirements as laid out in applicable regulations.
  • Support the Strategic Manager (Servicing) with legionella, asbestos, and lifts safety activity and projects across the whole of GPHGs property portfolio.
  • You will carry out inspection of properties, identifying areas of weakness, proposing solutions and recommendations.
  • You will support the preparation of schedules of work, specifications and support the procurement of remedial legionella, asbestos, and lift works projects.
  • You will provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues and contractors to ensure compliance with legislation, statutory requirements and the Groups strategies, policies and procedures.
  • You will support contract management of programmes and contractors across all customer safety contracts to ensure targets for quality, cost and timescales are achieved.
  • You will provide expert technical knowledge and manage the compliance of all aspects of legionella, asbestos, and lift safety maintenance across the property portfolio, ensuring that the services comply with current regulations, best practice and British Standards.
  • When required you will carry out audits, onsite inspections and produce related reports.
  • Undertake post inspections of works, when required, and ensure effective and appropriate records and administrative systems are maintained, ensuring all documentation pertaining to property and communications are stored in the agreed shared location.
  • Take an active role in the review, development and implementation of policy and procedure being involved in and leading on relevant projects.
  • Support the delivery and embedding of policies and procedures by completing toolbox talks, site visits, and training materials as necessary to ensure that all stakeholders understand their role in maintaining customer safety.

  • Experience in budget setting and management
