UCL’s Fire Safety Team is seeking a proactive and technically astute Fire Safety Technical Co-ordinator to support the implementation of fire safety best practices across our diverse and complex estate.

About The Role

Reporting to the Fire Safety Managers, you’ll coordinate UCL’s fire safety compliance and performance programmes, ensuring the effective delivery of risk assessments, audits, training, and remedial actions. You’ll liaise with key stakeholders across Campus Operations and Development, using your organisational and communication skills to help create a culture of proactive fire safety.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage fire risk assessments across UCL, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance under the BAFE SP205 Scheme.
• Analyse data trends to prevent future risks and ensure non-conformities are addressed.
• Coordinate training sessions and practical fire safety drills across campus.
• Support incident response and follow-up, including remedial actions and reporting.
• Manage documentation and technical data in collaboration with the compliance and estates teams.
• Monitor fire safety budgets and contracts, ensuring value for money and high service standards.
  
  

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience or qualifications in fire safety (or a willingness to gain them).
• A solid understanding of UK fire safety legislation and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office tools.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A genuine interest in building a positive fire safety culture across UCL.
