Job description

Job Title: Technical Co-ordinator

Location: Telford

Thorn Baker's award-winning house builder is looking for an experienced Technical Co-ordinator to join their busy Construction team. Committed to the highest standards of design, construction, and service, this is an opportunity to work with an incredibly successful company with over fifty years' experience across the UK who specialise in sustainable net zero homes.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for Land Appraisals; and have an understanding of working drawings.
  2. Brief and commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired.
  3. Brief engineering and architectural consultants on scope of design, which includes roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, foundation designs, and any other substructures below DPC level either private or adopted.
  4. Initial negotiations/enquiries with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land.
  5. Issue engineering information to Commercial, Construction and Sales departments.
  6. Fee negotiation and appointment of consultants.
  7. Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety and Environment Policy.

Required Skills:

  1. Good understanding of current building regulations and CDM.
  2. Knowledge of current EA/Water Authority/Highway regulations and adoption agreements.
  3. Good understanding of AutoCAD.
  4. Excellent communication skills with both internal departments and external bodies.
  5. Enthusiastic and hardworking, willing to undertake all necessary training.
  6. Be able to work on your own initiative and fit well within the team and business.
