Brief Description

We are Central route. We are the Heart of Britain's Railway. More than a million people rely on us every week, and we help transport nearly a million tonnes of freight every month. We are a key part of the national network, with Birmingham New Street - the busiest station outside of London and the hub of the railway - connecting England, Scotland and Wales, with hundreds of services arriving and leaving every day.

About the role (External)

The Structures team in Central Route are responsible for managing key infrastructure on the network including bridges; culverts; retaining walls and tunnels.

Working within the Structures maintenance team, the purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and effective general administrative, technical and analytical support to the lead manager and their team.

The role will be varied in its activities and offers an opportunity to develop a good understanding of data management as well as the delivery of reactive maintenance faults and minor emerging works projects.


What will you be doing?


Analysing and presenting data to support recommendations in relation to structures related assets.

- Providing technical & administrative support in relation to structures.

- Carrying out upkeep and review of publications, data, records, logs as required.

- Assisting in the preparation of required outputs in relation to structures related activities.

- Locating and collating data, records, and other information as required.

What we're looking for

In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:

• Knowledge of relevant technical function and activities

• Good analytical skills

• Good communication and organisation skills

It's not mandatory to have the below, but it would be desirable to have:

• Knowledge of operational railway environment

• Knowledge of other functional disciplines

Salary: Band 6 - starting at £ 22,932.00
