Pro currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Claims Manager to join our Legacy claims team on a permanent basis. As a technical lead, this role will drive the technical excellence of the team and involve the formulation and delivery of Pro’s Value-Add proposition to clients.
Pro has UK office locations in London, Glasgow, Gloucester, Horsham, and Liverpool, with a flexible working policy regarding location and remote work. The post holder may need to travel between these locations as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of high-value, complex legacy claims, reporting to the Head of Strategy
- Implement targeted Technical Claims Value-Add strategies, measuring success and presenting recommendations to clients
- Develop data points and reports with the Specialist Claims Analyst to monitor Pro’s Value-Add Proposition
- Promote a culture of excellence and technical performance through quality assurance, controls, training, coaching, and feedback
- Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within the team
- Ensure timely and standard-compliant QA/QC activities, and maintain Technical PDPs for all team members
- Provide technical advice and guidance to internal colleagues and act as a referral point for complex or high-value claims
- Contribute to PR campaigns, thought leadership, and external communications
- Manage team projects related to Pro’s claims proposition
- Support business development initiatives and participate as Claims SME in relevant activities
- Analyze and comment on MI and prepare presentations to demonstrate value to clients
- Represent Pro at market forums and consultations to advocate for client interests
- Contribute to PLF Audit and supplier Quality Control frameworks
- Liaise with solicitors and brokers, maintain records, identify potential fraud, and provide external technical guidance
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 10 years’ experience managing EL/PL Legacy Claims, including NID, HAVs, and Pleural Plaques
- Strong understanding of legal concepts such as Duty, Breach, Causation, and Limitation, with ability to assess Quantum and Apportionment
- Experience with other claim types is advantageous
- Excellent policy interpretation skills
- Ability to meet Service Level Agreements
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of claims handling, quality assurance, fraud, and relevant legislation
- Professional communication skills with high-profile claims experience

- Understanding of the legal system in England & Wales, including CPR and pre-action protocols; knowledge of Scottish and Northern Irish systems is a plus
