Job summary

Zego is expanding its Claims department and seeks a highly skilled Technical Claims Manager to drive excellence, quality, and innovation. You will lead auditing across internal claims teams and external providers, ensuring technical precision and superior customer experience in motor claims.

With hands-on motor claims experience and a demonstrated ability to lead, you will shape claims strategy, collaborate across Fraud, Data, Product, Engineering, and Actuarial teams, and champion data quality

• Strong technical claims knowledge across AD, TPVD & TPPI, incl. Large Loss.
• Experience handling/auditing indemnity referrals and nuanced decisions.

The team

Zego’s Claims department is expanding, and we’re on the hunt for a highly skilled Technical Claims Manager to elevate our standards of technical excellence. In this pivotal role, as a Technical Claims Manager, you’ll drive excellence, quality, and innovation. You will lead the performance of our Quality Assurance Framework, ensuring best-in-class auditing of both our internal claims team and external providers. Your expertise will ensure that every aspect of our claims handling, from technical precision to customer experience, meets and exceeds industry-leading standards.

We’re looking for an analytical and detail-oriented claims expert with a strong technical background in motor claims. You must have hands‑on experience in handling and/or auditing motor claims. What you will be doing

• Lead continuous improvements of our Quality Assurance Framework, ensuring technical excellence across all claims processes.

• Deal with complex indemnity referrals applying all relevant legislation and delivering swift resolutions for our customers.

• Develop and refine best-practice documentation, keeping our teams equipped with cutting-edge claims strategies.

• Train, mentor, and develop our claims team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

• Monitor, analyse, and report on claims initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise efficiency and drive performance improvements.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with experts across Fraud, Data, Product Management, Engineering, Actuarial, Reserving, and Sales to enhance our claims strategy.

• Represent Zego in supplier and client meetings, building strong external relationships and ensuring alignment with our quality and service expectations.

• Shape the future of claims processing, influencing system development, enhancing automation capabilities, and driving innovation.

• Champion claims data quality and completeness, working closely with our Data and Product teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable across all internal systems.

What you will need to be successful

• Proven track record of hands‑on motor claims experience within an insurance company, ideally within an Insurtech or Motor Insurance provider where innovation meets efficiency.

• Excellent technical claims knowledge from handling and/or auditing a wide variety of claims across AD, TPVD & TPPI, ideally including Large Loss

• Experience of dealing with indemnity referrals and confidence making nuanced decisions around issues such as misrepresentation

• A natural leader, confident in your ideas but adaptable to change, thriving in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.

• CII Certificate is a plus, but your expertise and impact matter most.

• You work AI‑first. You will use AI daily here, and we mean daily. You do not need to arrive an expert, but you do need to arrive curious, experiment fast, and take ownership of getting good quickly. People who wait to be trained will find this uncomfortable.
