Job summary

Red Bull Powertrains is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer - Composites to lead procurement of composite Power Unit components at our Milton Keynes facility. You will manage supplier relationships, place orders and drive cost, quality and delivery performance to meet deadlines.

You’ll identify capable suppliers, expedite progress, support budget planning and push continuous improvements in the procurement process while working under pressure in a high-performance motorsport environment.

Qualifications

• Experience procuring low-volume, high-complexity composite components for ICE.
• Strong understanding of composite procurement in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and composite manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement for Composite Power Unit components and source materials, services, and manufacturing processes to meet team needs.
• Identify RBPT-approved suppliers, place purchase orders, and negotiate quality, delivery, and price.
• Expedite component progress and address potential delays using manufacturing experience to overcome issues.
• Identify capacity shortfalls and source new solutions to meet future demands.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships and keep information up to date in the system.
• Support budget planning and cost monitoring to manage departmental expenditure.
• Be a focal point of support on procurement matters for the team.
• Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and contribute to process improvements.

Red Bull Powertrains are seeking an experienced Technical Buyer - Composites to join our team, driving the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes which is designed to deliver high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.

As the Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for driving the procurement process for Power Unit composite components, managing key supplier relationships plus ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of composite parts required for our high-performance Power Units. Your role will be critical in supporting our projects and ensuring that deadlines are met while maintaining the highest levels of quality, delivery, and cost control.

The role:

• Manage the procurement process for Composite Power Unit components, ensuring the sourcing of materials, services, and manufacturing processes required to meet the needs of the team.
• Identify suitable suppliers from the RBPT-approved supplier base, placing purchase orders and negotiating the best combination of quality, delivery, and price.
• Expedite component progress, proactively addressing potential delays and using your manufacturing experience to overcome supply issues.
• Identify capacity shortfalls within the current supplier portfolio and source new solutions to meet future demands.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the manufacturing system.
• Support the budget planning and cost monitoring processes as required, helping to manage expenditure across the department.
• Be a focal point of support and advice for the team on procurement matters.
• Work efficiently and independently, ensuring tight deadlines are consistently met.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvements and innovation within the procurement process

What we need from you:

• Proven experience in the successful procurement of low-volume, high-complexity, composite components for internal combustion engines (ICE).
• Experience and understanding of Composite procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• A strong technical understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings and composite manufacturing processes.
• Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
• Strong sense of responsibility, team spirit, and a high level of reliability.
