We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Subsea Network Business Developer to help build and scale one of the world's largest and most complex networks. This role involves planning and constructing subsea backbone capacity, working closely with various teams to develop and deliver submarine cable projects, and implementing process improvements while engaging with stakeholders across Amazon.

Responsibilities include sourcing, planning, assisting in project delivery, owning network acquisition and strategy, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to expand Amazon's AWS footprint globally. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to find innovative, cost-effective solutions to support Amazon’s growth.

Daily activities involve managing multi-year projects, coordinating with vendors and teams, ensuring project standards and timelines are met, and solving issues proactively. The Subsea Backbone team manages deployment, operation, upgrades, and security standards for submarine networks, working closely with regional teams to deliver capacity globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 5+ years in the subsea industry, including fiber optic networks and submarine cables
  • Experience in developing, negotiating, and executing subsea telecom agreements, managing cross-functional programs
  • Program management skills relevant to subsea telecoms, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and attention to detail
  • Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience merging traditional project management with agile processes, automation, operational excellence, or continuous improvement
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and leadership skills within a talented, opinionated team
