Job summary

Leapfrog Recruitment Consultants seeks a seasoned Business Analyst/Technical Business Analyst to shape technology in a major banking transformation. You will translate business needs into technical solutions across core banking, payments, digital channels and data, collaborating with product and engineering teams.

You will document requirements, define APIs and data models, and contribute to Agile delivery with strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services technology with core banking experience.
• Solid understanding of banking products, accounting principles and regulatory change.
• Technical knowledge of APIs, microservices, data models and relational databases.
• Experience interpreting API specifications and data schemas; cloud knowledge desirable.
• Business Analysis qualification and Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate business, regulatory and operational requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Analyse banking processes, products and lifecycle events to support solution design.
• Define API requirements, data models, mappings and integration flows.
• Work with architects and engineers on core banking, payments, digital and data solutions.
• Develop user stories and acceptance criteria and support Agile delivery activities.
• Support data migration, mapping, reconciliation and cutover activities.
• Define functional and integration testing scenarios and support SIT and UAT.
• Liaise with business stakeholders, engineering teams and external technology vendors.
• Produce clear technical documentation covering system behaviour, integrations and business rules.
• Support knowledge transfer and successful handover of new solutions into operational teams.

The role offers genuine influence within a significant transformation programme.

Location

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst with at least 5 years' experience within financial services technology and strong hands-on exposure to core banking platforms such as Temenos, Mambu, Thought Machine, Finacle, TCS BaNCS or Flexcube. You'll have a solid understanding of banking products, accounting principles and regulatory change, together with technical knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven integrations, data models and relational databases. Experience interpreting API specifications, data schemas and sequence diagrams is important, while cloud knowledge across Azure, AWS or GCP would be advantageous. You'll ideally hold a relevant degree and Business Analysis qualification, with Agile certification beneficial, and bring excellent analytical, documentation and stakeholder management skills alongside experience delivering within complex transformation programmes.
