Job summary

Vivo Talent supports a Birmingham-based business migrating reporting capabilities to Power BI. A technical Business Analyst will bridge the gap between data users and data engineers, gathering requirements and turning them into precise specifications.

You will lead UAT and ensure delivered solutions meet user needs. Ideal candidates have 3+ years as a technical Business Analyst, strong SQL and expertise in BI tools (Power BI preferred).

Qualifications

3+ years as a technical Business Analyst
Solid SQL skills for validating requirements and interrogating data
Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or Cognos
Strong process mapping, documentation and requirements gathering
Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and offering constructive challenge
Understanding of data governance, data quality and GDPR

Responsibilities

Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate into detailed specs for data engineers
Decide which legacy reports should be retired, consolidated or rebuilt
Lead user acceptance testing to validate delivered solutions with users

Technical Business Analyst / Power BI / Migration / Business Analyst / 12-month FTC / Birmingham / Onsite / Hybrid

Vivo are working with a Birmingham based business who are moving their reporting capabilities onto Power BI and they need a technical Business Analyst to help deliver it.

You’ll be the link between the people who need data and the people who build it. Working with senior leaders, engineers and employees, you’ll gather requirements, decide which legacy reports should be retired, consolidated or rebuilt and turn those needs into clear specifications for the data engineers. You’ll also lead user acceptance testing to make sure what’s delivered works for the people using it.

What you’ll bring

3+ years as a technical Business Analyst, including work on projects that delivered kimball style data models
Solid SQL skills for validating requirements and interrogating data
Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or Cognos
Strong process mapping, documentation and requirements gathering
Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and offering constructive challenge
Understanding of data governance, data quality and GDPR
