About the Role

A leading digital transformation consultancy is seeking a Technical Bid Writer to join its growing Defence division. This role focuses on creating compelling, high-quality bid submissions for clients across the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Armed Forces, and Defence.

The position requires a strong communicator with the ability to transform complex technical concepts (cloud platforms, software, data, AI) into clear, persuasive proposals. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to help secure major opportunities within the Defence sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality, client-focused bid responses that clearly communicate value.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and account teams to distil complex information into engaging content.
  • Maintain a library of reusable content, case studies, and templates for bids.
  • Support win strategies, themes, and value propositions for Defence opportunities.
  • Ensure submissions meet brand guidelines, tone of voice, and quality standards.
  • Research Defence industry trends to strengthen bid positioning.
  • Manage timelines, inputs, and delivery of submissions.
  • Contribute to marketing materials, such as capability statements and thought leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in bid writing or technical writing (Defence or related sectors preferred).
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a broad audience.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong record of high-quality written content.
  • Skilled at collaborating with sales, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hold UK Security Clearance (SC).
  • Familiarity with bid frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the Defence sector (MOD, Armed Forces, Defence suppliers).
  • Experience writing for digital services (cloud, software, data/AI).
  • Hands-on background in technical or delivery roles.
