Job summary

Adecco, in partnership with Bentley Motors, seeks a Technical Author to develop Owner Handbooks for luxury vehicles. The role is based in Crewe with a hybrid setup (3 days on-site) and covers global documentation needs for customers and technicians.

You'll translate PDBs, TPDs, and Engineering Change docs into clear, accurate manuals, ensuring brand alignment and regulatory compliance. Strong writing skills and automotive knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write clear, concise technical documentation for diverse audiences.
• Proficient in digital platforms and data management systems.
• Experience in external publication and catalogue systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Owner Handbooks aligned with product launches and model year updates.
• Interpret Product Description Books (PDBs), Technical Product Descriptions (TPDs), and Engineering Change documentation.
• Ensure content is user-friendly, brand-aligned, and technically accurate.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Planning, Legal, and Marketing.
• Support internal and external communications to promote Aftersales initiatives.

Location: Crewe, UK

Contract Type: Temporary (until 26/06/2029)

Pay Rate: Competitive outside IR35

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site)

About the Role:

In this exciting position, you will craft clear, engaging, and precise technical documentation that supports both customers and technicians around the globe. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the lifecycle of our client's remarkable vehicles, from developing Owner Handbooks.

Key Responsibilities:

Owner Handbooks

• Develop and maintain Owner Handbooks aligned with new product launches and model year updates.
• Interpret Product Description Books (PDBs), Technical Product Descriptions (TPDs), and Engineering Change documentation.
• Ensure content is user-friendly, brand-aligned, and technically accurate.

Quality & Communication

• Ensure documentation meets internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Planning, Legal, and Marketing.
• Support internal and external communications to promote Aftersales initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Proven ability to write clear, concise technical documentation for diverse audiences.
• Proficient in digital platforms and data management systems.
• Experience in external publication and catalogue systems preferred.

Knowledge Requirements

• Understanding of Bentley product and retailer processes.
• Familiarity with automotive engineering and Aftersales practises.
• Knowledge of VW Group systems and legislative requirements.
• Proficient in handbook and illustration systems.

Qualifications

• Strong content writing skills
• Qualification in English
• Good knowledge of systems with minimal training provided
• Ability to arrange moving images/text for documentation
• Essential understanding of automotive parts
