Job Description:

Technical Author required with Engineering diagram skills, ideally Photoshop, Illustrator, or Creo, to join a large Engineering-focused Communications team. As a Technical Writer, you will create and update operating and maintenance technical information for various engineering project teams, involving assembly and test procedures or user guides related to hardware and some software. You will translate technical information into clear, concise content that is easily understood, with experience in creating modular, topic-based content.

Key skills include:

  • Strong technical writing skills with at least two years of experience.
  • Excellent editing skills in a content management or structured authoring environment.
  • Experience with graphic software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Creo for creating/editing images.
  • Ability to review peers' work and follow corporate style guides.

You will produce high-quality user documentation in line with corporate standards and deadlines, mainly focusing on assembly and maintenance procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating, updating, and maintaining technical reference, maintenance, and operational content for field engineers and technicians, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
  • Writing structured documentation using Arbortext Editor within a content management system (PTC WindChill) to enhance comprehension and usability.
  • Producing clear, accurate content suitable for diverse users, including non-native English speakers.
  • Observing assembly processes and documenting procedures in manufacturing.
  • Producing and editing graphics, including taking photos during assembly, cropping, adding callouts, and creating renders/exploded views from CAD models.
