We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to develop technical documentation for marine vessels. This role involves creating and updating technical content, ensuring high quality and adherence to standards, and fostering continuous improvement. Note: This is a 1-year contract ending around May 2026.

What You Will Do
  • Creation: Author precise technical documentation following guidelines and best practices.
  • Definition: Assess tasks, resolve queries, and prepare source data for work initiation.
  • Schedule Management: Collaborate with the Tech Lead and Project Manager to meet milestones.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address project risks promptly.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Culture: Promote a "right-first-time" approach and drive excellence.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to simplify and improve processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Team and Training Manager.
To Be Successful You Will Have
  • UK nationality and DBS clearance or the ability to obtain it, as required for the project.
  • Extensive experience in technical authoring within engineering environments.
  • Proven skills in creating and managing S1000D XML data modules in a CSDB environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of marine engineering systems and naval vessels.
