Job description

Our client, a respected partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Technical Author. This role requires a skilled professional to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality materials that support our products and users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain a variety of technical documents, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and online help resources.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse technical information.
  • Structure and organise content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Utilise documentation tools and content management systems to develop and manage content effectively.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company branding and style guidelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance our documentation processes.

What do you need?:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, or in a similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of technical concepts with the ability to clearly explain them to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Adobe, Confluence, or Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development processes is advantageous.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
