Responsibilities

• Ensuring the generation of technical materials that are required to facilitate the delivery of product to market in a timely manner.
• Working with the design team to create 3D models and SOPs for new dedicated illustration kits for all group products.
• Creating work instructions and Standard Production Order (SPO) to assist the production line.
• Creating or revising user and installation manuals for any new or existing products.
• Managing and implementing change through processes and communicating with other departments.
• Creating an illustrated parts catalogue (IPC) to assist every department in determining product parts and codes.

Technical Author Pay, Hours and Benefits

• 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (with some flexibility)

This role is commutable from the following areas: Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Mansfield, Chesterfield.

Technical Author Role Overview

You will join the company’s busy Technical Support team in Derbyshire, with a focus on creating and maintaining high quality SOP’s (standard operating procedures, installation/user manuals and the creation of drawings/models for product fabrications.

Technical Author Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Author, with Illustrations / Illustrator expertise.
• Proficient in CAD, Solidworks and Adobe packages including Illustrator.
• Good understanding of basic engineering principles.
• A well-organised professional.
• Proactive, self-motivated and solutions focused.
• A clear and confident communicator and strong team player.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Technical Author Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the generation of technical materials that are required to facilitate the delivery of product to market in a timely manner.
• Working with the design team to create 3D models and SOPS for new dedicated illustration kits for all group products.
• Creating work instructions and Standard Production Order (SPO) to assist the production line and production manager.
• Creating or revising user and installation manuals for any new or existing products brought to market by any of the group’s brands.
• Managing and implement change through processes and communicate with other departments to deal with enquiries both efficiently and effectively.
• Creating an illustrated parts catalogue (IPC) to assist every department determine product parts and codes.
