Job summary

A B Graphic International Limited is seeking a Technical Author to join our team at Carnaby. You will create, maintain and improve technical documentation for our range of print finishing machinery, translating complex information into clear manuals, tooling packs and supporting documents for internal teams and customers worldwide.

You will work with the Technical Documentation Team, manage translations across international group companies and ensure documentation accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and update technical documentation, including machine operation manuals and tooling packs.

• Maintain electronic documentation and ensure latest information is available to users.
• Prepare and distribute machine manuals and tooling packs to group companies, distributors and customers.
• Support ISO/IMS documentation and apply 5S and Lean principles to processes.
• Prepare and deliver machine documentation packs ready for shipment.

The role

If you're a detail-oriented individual with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering who enjoys turning technical information into clear, accurate and easy-to-follow documentation, we've got the role for you.

We're looking for a Technical Author to join our team at Carnaby. Working closely with colleagues across the business and our international group companies, you'll play an important role in creating, maintaining and improving technical documentation for our range of innovative print finishing machinery.

You'll help ensure that our machine manuals, technical information and supporting documentation are accurate, consistent and accessible to the people who need them, supporting both our internal teams and customers worldwide.

What you'll be doing

• Create, review and update technical documentation, including machine operation manuals and tooling packs, ensuring information is clear, accurate and up to date.
• Work closely with the Technical Documentation Team and colleagues across the business to gather technical information and maintain documentation standards.
• Manage technical documentation and translations across our product range, working with international group companies to ensure consistency.
• Maintain and control electronic documentation in line with company standards, ensuring the latest information is available to relevant users.
• Prepare and distribute machine manuals and tooling packs to group companies, distributors and customers.
• Support the maintenance and control of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Apply 5S and Lean principles to support continuous improvement, accuracy and efficiency in documentation processes.
• Prepare and deliver machine documentation packs ready for shipment and delivery.

Who we're looking for

You’ll have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to interpret technical information and present it in a clear, accurate and structured format.

An important part of the role will be developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of our products, processes and procedures, ensuring this knowledge is accurately reflected in the documentation you produce.

You’ll be confident using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Solid Edge Viewer, Adobe PDF Viewer and image rendering software.

You’ll be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential, alongside a proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
