Job description

The Role

This is a great opportunity to start / continue your Insurance Career within the Portfolio Solutions Underwriting Team here at Canopius.

The Canopius Portfolio Solutions team writes an established and diverse portfolio via Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s platforms.

We offer lead and follow capacity to multi-class portfolios within the global (re)insurance market, supporting our most important trading partners, and have quickly established ourselves as key players in the Portfolio Solutions marketplace.

The Technical Assistant will provide support to underwriters and the wider business through administrative duties, reporting and liaising with various stakeholders, creating tactical solutions to meet the administrative and data capture needs of underwriting teams, with a developing working knowledge of pre and post bind processes as identified in the underwriting governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enters and validates the capture of submission information into the Underwriting workflow/Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • Enters policy referral points into the Underwriting tracking spreadsheet.
  • Enters and validates the capture of policyholder information into the Underwriting admin system.
  • Utilises Canopius systems to run and distribute standard underwriting reports for analysis by the Underwriting team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Provides support to underwriters by responding to requests from internal and external stakeholders as directed by underwriting team. Including brokers, claims, exposure management, credit control, compliance and operations.
  • Assist the team with pre and post bind checks.
  • Maintains appropriate records in accordance with data quality standards.
  • Instructs onshore and offshore third-party staff.
  • Assist with the management of credit control and monitoring of aged debt per internal guidelines.
  • Oversee Bordereaux management for risk and aggregations in liaison with exposure management, ensure deadlines are met.
  • Enhance team processes and reporting.
  • Undertaking ad hoc research to assist underwriters.

Skills
