Underwriting Operations Technical Assistant, Marine & Energy risks, working for a global Lloyd’s Insurer. Your new job working as an Underwriting Technical Assistant will be with an innovative and growing Global Lloyd's Insurer, which has been established for over 100 years. Your new insurers pride themselves on being client-focused and have recently been named an employer of choice. Due to substantial growth within their Technical team, a permanent job within the Marine and Energy Team has arisen within their London office.
Your new role as an Underwriting Technical Assistant means you will be responsible for the processing of debit/credit notes and chasing, receiving and processing bordereaux premiums, as well as submitting all documents to the Bureau. You will also be responsible for maintaining statistical information such as profit commissions and dealing with unallocated cash. Other duties will include assisting the technical team with processing, technical queries, and other ad hoc duties as required. You will also be responsible for Technical Accounting duties, reading and analyzing Slips for Marine & Energy risks, updating the in-house system, and ideally having some exposure or at least an understanding of Blueprint 2 projects within the Marine and Energy space.
What you’ll need to succeed: Your previous experience working as a Technician or Underwriting Technical Assistant handling Marine and Energy risks in a similar job will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have good knowledge and understanding of London market procedures. You will have great attention to detail and be able to use your own initiative. You will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have excellent knowledge of Excel and Outlook. You will be able to manage and control your own personal effectiveness, including time management and priority setting during this role.
