A local council in Dumfries is looking for a Technical Assistant to provide support within the Roads Maintenance Team. This role involves assisting senior staff with administrative tasks and coordinating utility work. The Roads & Infrastructure Service delivers a wide variety of frontline services and are looking to recruit a Technical Assistant within the Roads Maintenance & Network Co-ordination Team.
Based at Wayside Depot, Dumfries you will assist and provide technical and administrative support to the Senior Roads Services staff in the delivery of various functions of network co-ordination within the roads service. This will include issue of permissions and co-ordination of utility work.
You must have a minimum of 4 Standard Grades (grade 3 or above), including Mathematics, or equivalent. You must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office applications essential.
You must have experience of working with members of the public. Previous technical experience is desirable as is working in an office environment.
You must be flexible, self motivated and able to work under pressure and work to deadlines. You should be a team player with good oral/written communication skills.
A current driving license is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving license consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
