Overview

The Role

The Technical Assistant assists in delivery of new and renewal underwriting of Binding Authority contracts within the Delegated Authorities North America division, including selecting facilities and underlying risks in line with the Canopius’ strategy and underwriting guidelines, operating within authority and documentation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to plans for the book of business, tracks and reports performance to plan, and develops a clear view of market conditions and competitive landscape.
  • Maintain trusted relationships with intermediary partners.
  • Evaluates the performance of intermediary partners in production of business.
  • Monitors and communicates production, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios, spread of risk and other production and quality measures.
  • Prices business in accordance with pricing and underwriting strategy.
  • Reviews data proactively as a method to identify new opportunities within the underwriting function.
  • Monitors resources regularly for changes in laws and market conditions that will impact the underwriting department and procedures.
