Job Title: Technical Assistant

Location: Fife Region

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you looking to start or develop your career in the food manufacturing industry? This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Assistant to join a well-established and growing food production business.

In this role, you will support the Technical and Quality teams to ensure the site meets all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with BRCGS standards, HACCP, and customer-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  2. Assisting with internal audits, external audits, and customer visits
  3. Aiding in the completion of risk assessments and investigation of non-conformances
  4. Supporting HACCP documentation and food safety procedures
  5. Communicating with customers on technical queries, including audit preparation and corrective action closeouts
  6. Assisting in the launch of new products, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards
  7. Supporting traceability exercises, product sampling, and quality checks

What We’re Looking For:

  1. A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  2. A good understanding of food safety and quality assurance standards
  3. Knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer technical requirements
  4. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. The ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
