Job summary

Cameron Clarke Associates seeks a part-time Technical Assistant in Birkenhead. You will join the technical department working Saturdays and Sundays 06:00-18:00, contributing to formulation development and quality control in a laboratory setting.

The role requires a degree, experience in household products formulation, lab work, and strong computer literacy. In return, you’ll gain hands-on R&D exposure in a busy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the R&D technical team.

• Support transition of new products to full-scale production.
• Assist the team with regulatory testing of formulations.
• Prepare paperwork for product launches and compile reports.
• Engage with suppliers on new chemical trends.
• Monitor market trends and product developments.

Technical Assistant | Birkenhead, Wirral | Part Time | £27,812.04 per annum pro rata

Our client is a privately owned company specialising in producing and supplying household laundry and cleaning products. They supply national and international customers with their own brand of laundry and cleaning products.

They have laboratory, blending and packing facilities at their Birkenhead premises to produce household, laundry and cleaning products. They develop, scale up and produce all formulations in-house.

They develop formulations to match briefs from customers, which are then blended and packaged at their manufacturing facilities in Birkenhead.

The Role

They are seeking a part-time Technical Assistant to join their expanding team and work in their technical department.

The working hours are Saturday and Sunday, 06:00 to 18:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of the research and development technical team
• Develop new formulations based on briefs to meet product requirements and performance against relevant benchmarks
• Prepare laboratory-scale product samples
• Undertake routine Quality control checks on product samples
• Develop new formulations to match the target cost and review existing formulations to optimise performance and cost
• Be involved in the transition of newly developed products into full-scale production
• Work with the technical team to complete regulatory testing on current and new formulations
• Complete necessary paperwork required for product launches and compile associated reports, documents and files regarding testing and product formulations
• Engage with suppliers to understand new chemical advancements and trends in the market
• Monitor new products, chemicals and trends within the market
