Job description

UKAS is seeking independent technical assessors in various disciplines to support the assessment of accredited and applicant certification bodies.

Disciplines include:

• Flammability/Fire testing of construction products and assemblies
• Doors and Windows testing, including PAS 24
• Door Furniture
• Geotextiles
• Asphalt/Bituminous Materials
• Cement
• Manufactured Construction Products

Applicants should have extensive experience in testing laboratories within relevant industry sectors and possess appropriate qualifications. Knowledge of specialized testing areas is highly valuable. Experience in internal or third-party auditing or assessment, along with familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the Construction Products Regulations, is advantageous.

Since this role involves assessing multiple accredited bodies, UKAS cannot consider applications from individuals who have conflicts of interest or conduct significant work for several UKAS accredited organizations.

UKAS contracts independent technical assessors on a day rate basis. The workload varies depending on customer demands, and therefore, specific work levels cannot be guaranteed.
