About UKAS:

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the national accreditation body, responsible for the accreditation of organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services. UKAS ensures that these organisations operate by internationally recognised conformity assessment standards, enhancing confidence in their services. We seek an experienced Independent Technical Assessor to support UKAS accreditation and ensure compliance with rigorous regulatory and certification requirements.

The Role:

As an Independent Technical Assessor, you will evaluate Factory Production Control (FPC) systems and assess compliance with certification requirements for UKAS-accredited organisations. You will work closely with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and internal UKAS assessment teams to uphold the highest standards of technical rigour as part of the assessment and quality assurance process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct independent assessments of FPC systems for conformity and compliance with UKAS accreditation and certification requirements.
  2. Evaluate testing processes, quality control measures, and adherence to industry standards and conformity assessment standards.
  3. Assess manufacturing processes for construction products to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
  4. Provide detailed technical reports and recommendations following assessments.
  5. Ensure delivery of FPC requirements, technical assessments, and compliance best practices.
  6. Identify production quality issues and review corrective and preventive actions.

About You:

  1. Extensive experience in FPC within the construction products manufacturing industry.
  2. In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17020, and other relevant accreditation standards.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work independently while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  5. Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  6. Experience working in the construction products sector.
