Job summary

The Insolvency Service, in partnership with Inspire People, is hiring a Technical Architect to shape the future of digital services used by citizens, businesses and intermediaries across the UK. This permanent role offers a salary of £57,367 - £74,319 with a generous Civil Service pension and benefits.

Flexible, hybrid working (60% in office) across nine locations including Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Ipswich, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Software development background, preferably .NET/C#.
• Experience turning business problems into technical designs across services.
• Experience defining architecture strategy, standards and roadmaps.
• Experience in architecture governance and risk management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Desirable: experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud transformations.
• Knowledge of GOV.UK Service Manual and Technology Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Define target architectures and roadmaps across Digital Services.
• Produce and maintain reference architectures and design patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance on major decisions.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to balance quality and delivery needs.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to translate requirements into technical plans.
